Empty Suits individuals who aren’t wise but act wise, They have lines and catchphrases and are masters at posturing. Their answers are always smooth and polished because they built their entire career by knowing exactly the right kinds of words to inspire confidence (and taking credit for the work of others). They know the right buzzwords and how to speak at length while committing to very little. But like a con artist, that’s all they have – there is nothing behind an Empty Suit’s rhetoric.
Effective Executives are different. They pay less attention to appearances. They don’t spend their time polishing answers to philosophical questions.
The least competent people (the Empty Suits) spend their energy avoiding accountability and therefore can’t learn from mistakes they don’t admit to. Because they never admit to mistakes, they overestimate their abilities and Worst of all, they have convinced themselves that they are the real thing.
Now I want to talk about Somalia’s incompetent leadership full of emotional eloquence , which is the true “color” personality that they’re .
At one point in time Somalia used have great leadership even though difficult to articulate, all of them were great leaders with vision for the country.
Unfortunately, this experience was not the norm. According to global analytics firm Gallup research about one in ten people actually possess the talent to manage, also Islamic scholars stated that 4% of the people can’t be leaders at all. Unfortunately as of lately Somali leaders were mostly the 4% who were not supposed to lead at all who got selected not elected by the people.
When leadership is great, success inevitably follows Likewise, when leadership is poor, failure inevitably follows. Show me some examples of successful countries and I will point you in the direction of the strong leader that orchestrated their success.
Abdullah bin Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. An Imam is a shepherd and he is responsible for those in his care. A man is a shepherd in respect of his family and is responsible for those in his care. The woman is a shepherd in respect of her husband’s house and is responsible for what is in her care. The servant is a shepherd in respect of his master’s property and is responsible for what is in his care. All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his/her flock.”
What is the modern-day equivalent to the work of a shepherd in this hadith? IT’S LEADER! So reread the hadith above, but this time, replace the word shepherd, with the word leader.
As Dwight D. Eisenhower 34th President of the United States of America said, “You do not lead by hitting people over the head — that’s assault, not leadership.”
Leadership is about accountability,responsibility and transparency not showing your dominance over others by brutal force.
The 4 % leaders always say, “Do what I tell you because I am your President or Prime minister… .” they may win the battle in the moment, but they’ve lost the war, the patience of the people and their trust.
They like to incite a spiritual or emotional mutiny. Fight or flight is all they have on their mind .In other words, revenge or abandonment.
Weak leaders are known for personal vendettas,quick decisions for complex issues and hate for any opposing opinion. They think they know everything and do not honor the suggestions of the mature, the experienced and the most knowledgeable thinking that it is weakness to learn and consult with others. Weak leaders have short term visions and are not good in negotiations both local and foreign, they detest criticism and see it as threat to their leadership. Weak leaders use street goons tactics to intimidate their opposition instead of responding to the matter in truth. Worst of all weak leaders never apologize for their mistakes, have disdain for accountability and transparency for all important dealings. Weak leaders are corrupt to the core because they want to appease all and consume the public treasury to resolve short term issues.
Weak leaders do not understand that the time to shine is the time of difficulty and extreme adversity,
My hope for Somalia is to one day get great leadership that will unify, uplift and care for the people of this nation to its rightful place in the world and make it great again.
