MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Roadside bomb blast has targeted an armored personnel carrier with African Union peacekeeping forces in Somali capital Mogadishu.
The blast ripped through African Union forces’ vehicle while traveling through Hiliwa area in the capital, a witness said.
He says the forces had opened gunfire to response to the bomb attack, leaving a civilian dead and two others injured.
It remains unclear how many soldiers were killed or injured in the blast.
There ws no immediate comment from African Union mission in Somalia.
No group says it carried out the bomb attack, but such attacks are often carried out by Al Shabaab.
The group, which once controlled much of Somalia, wants to topple the western-backed government in Mogadishu.
