MOGADISHU,  (Caasimada Online) — Somali especial forces, backed by US troops have allegedly killed four civilian people near Leego town, some 120km southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu.

The coalition forces carried out Friday’s raid at main high-way linking Baidoa and Mogadishu, leaving 4 people , including a mother and her child dead, according to a witness, who asked to be anonymous.

He says bullet riddled bodies had been found by local residents and then, being laid to rest earlier on Saturday near Leego town.

The Somali army forces, along with US forces were reportedly airlifted back to Balidogle airbase , about 70 miles from Mogadishu, after carrying out the operation.

The Baledogle airfield is also where U.S. military experts train Somali forces and help them launch attacks on al-Shabab positions in south and central Somalia.

Somali military officials were unavailable to reach on phone for comments on the latest civilian killing in an attack near Leego town.

Earlier this year, Somalia, US especial forces killed 10 armed fighters belonging to Al Qaeda inspired group of Al Shabaab, battling the weak-western-backed government of Somalia, after joint military operation in the town.

In Somalia, US military also intensified its airborne attacks against the Somali militants in attempt to dismantle the group’s organized attacks.
