UAE holds secret Somalia politics meeting in Nairobi

Nairobi (Caasimada Online) – Caasimada Online has learned a secret diplomatic meeting between some prominent Somali diplomats and officials from UAE that was held in Nairobi- the capital city of Kenya.

The meeting, which was spearheaded by UAE’s Envoy in Somalia Mohamed Al Othmani, took place in a un-disclosed location within Nairobi, sourcse tell Caasimada Online.

The Somali diplomats are said to be vying for different political posts in the forthcoming elections, among them the presidential position.

The officials from UAE also met some presidential aspirant and other Somali prominent persons to discuss the election process.

Some of the key Somali diplomats who were present at the meeting include outgoing prime minister Omar Abdi Rashid, former speaker of the House, Sharif Hassan, and MP Abdirahman Abdishakur.

Diplomats and politicians from Kenya have also attended the meeting.

According to Caasimada Online sources, the primary focus of the meeting was on Somalia’s election and its territorial waters dispute with Kenya.

The government of UAE is currently focusing on Somalia’s politics and is seen as a key player in the formation of the next federal government.
