Massive explosion heard in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu

A massive explosion, reportedly caused by a car bomb, was heard in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Friday evening.

A witness said a car packed with explosives was detonated outside Ambassador hotel, along Makka Al-Mukarama street in the heart of Mogadishu.

The security forces of Somali government sealed off the scene near the blast site, as the ambulances ferrying the wounded to nearby hospital, according to the witness.

The car bomb went off between Ambassador hotel and Darul-Shifa hopital, both located along the main highway, which was busy at the time of the incident.

The casualty figures of the attack is yet sketchy, and no group said it was behind the bombing in Somali capital.
